Yesterday, the activities of the Holy Qur’an memorization and refining competition were held in its ninth session between the Sultan’s Armed Forces and the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Director of the Department of Culture and Information of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and in the presence of the Omani military attaché in Tehran, a number of senior Iranian military officers, the head and members of the Sultan’s Armed Forces delegation participating in the competition, and members of the jury.
A team of Holy Qur’an memorizers representing the weapons of the Sultan’s Armed Forces and the Royal Guard of Oman participated in this competition. The competition included four levels, the first level representing the memorization of the Holy Qur’an and its complete recitation, the second level memorizing eighteen consecutive parts, and the third level memorizing ten consecutive parts. And the fourth level memorizes five consecutive parts of the Noble Qur’an.
A number of participants from the Omani side achieved a number of advanced positions in the four levels of the competition, where the civilian Ibrahim bin Marhoon Al Ghafri of the Royal Navy of Oman got fourth place in the level of memorizing and reciting the Holy Quran in full, and Staff Sergeant Tariq bin Muhammad Al Junaibi of the Royal Army of Oman achieved Third place in the level of memorizing eighteen consecutive parts of the Holy Qur’an, and the civilian Saif bin Saeed Al-Luwaihi from the Royal Army of Oman ranked fourth in the level of memorizing ten successive parts of the Holy Qur’an, and in the level of memorizing five consecutive parts, the third civilian Jassim bin Muhammad Al Zaabi from the Royal Air Force of Oman, and the First Undersecretary of the Navy Younis bin Abdullah Al-Majrafi of the Royal Navy of Oman came in fourth place.
It is worth mentioning that the competition for memorizing and reciting the Noble Qur’an between the Sultan’s Armed Forces and the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran is held alternately between the two friendly countries every two years.
