Message by the Head of the Maritime Security Centre

The Maritime Security Centre was established in recognition of the importance of maintaining the security and stability of the Omani maritime region. It serves as a hub where all military, security and civil authorities concerned with maritime security in the Sultanate of Oman can combine their efforts and pool resources. One of the most important aspects of this centre is its close and continuous coordination with the military, security and civil authorities concerned with maintaining maritime security in Oman. This allows it to carry out diverse tasks and duties, which include protecting ports and maritime facilities, combating illegal trade and migration, organized crime, pollution of the marine environment, infiltration and smuggling and illegal fishing, and conducting search and rescue operations for stricken vessels that require assistance in the Omani maritime zone. MSC also assumes the task of managing and leading maritime security operations that require the joint participation of many parties. We hope, with the help of the Almighty, that the Maritime Security Centre will achieve the goals for which it was established, and perform the tasks entrusted to it to the fullest extent, whether in terms of the readiness of its crew, or the efficiency of the equipment and systems used to carry out its tasks. We pray to Allah Almighty to continue to bestow the blessings of security and stability on our beloved homeland, under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander- may Allah protect him.
