The football tournament between units of the Borders Guards Brigade of the Royal Army of Oman concluded today,
under the patronage of Brigadier Obaid bin Musabah Al Shamsi, Commander of the Borders Guards Brigade.
The final match, which was held at the Sports Complex of the Royal Army of Oman in Al-Murtafa Camp, brought together the team of the 2nd Battalion Borders Guards and the team of the 3rd Battalion Borders Guards, the match ended in a positive draw with two goals for each team, bringing the two teams to six points in the tournament.
At end, Brigadier Commander of the Border Guard Brigade, the patron of the occasion, handed over cups and prizes to the teams and players who won advanced positions in the tournament, the 2nd Battalion Borders Guards team achieved first place with a total of six points and a goal difference over the 3rd Battalion team, which came in second place.
On the individual level in the tournament: Sergeant Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al Ali won the best player award, Staff sergeant Imad bin Obaid Al Mushafri won the tournament’s top scorer title, and Sergeant Omar bin Mubarak Al Kiyoumi won the tournament’s best goalkeeper award.
