The Academy of Strategic and Defence Studies, represented by the Centre for Strategic and Defence Studies, concluded today the 2025 National Symposium titled “Enhancing Joint Integration Between the Public and Private Sectors in Creating Employment Opportunities.” The event was held under the patronage of Lieutenant General (Retired) Ahmed bin Harith Al-Nabhani, and in the presence of Major General Hamid bin Ahmed Sakroon, Head of the Academy of Strategic and Defence Studies.
The ceremony, held at Al-Shafaq Club of the Sultan’s Armed Forces, included a speech delivered by Brigadier Nasser bin Abdullah Al-Qutabi, Head of the Centre for Strategic and Defence Studies, in which he highlighted the Centre’s commitment to providing a platform for dialogue and the exchange of ideas and perspectives. He noted that the aim is to strengthen institutional linkages and develop practical policies that lead to outcomes and recommendations supporting efforts to build a strong and sustainable national economy in alignment with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
The patron of the event and the attendees watched several visual presentations outlining the themes of the symposium, which comprised four main axes. The event concluded with discussions on the outcomes, results, and recommendations of the National Symposium, in addition to showcasing key initiatives and launching the Muasasati Sustainability Platform.
The symposium aims to reinforce active partnership between the two sectors and establish clear national frameworks for achieving development. It also seeks to enhance institutional integration and partnership, develop joint initiatives, and create quality employment opportunities that empower national talent and support the national economy by ensuring efficient operations and fostering practical and sustainable solutions. Furthermore, the symposium focuses on drawing from successful international experiences, linking education and training with labour market needs, and developing an enabling environment for entrepreneurship and self-employment. It also supports economic diversification and strengthens the utilisation of digital and technological transformations to build a more flexible and sustainable employment ecosystem.
The event was attended by Her Highness Sayyida Hajija bint Jaifer Al Said, Member of the Small and Medium Enterprises Committee, a number of Their Excellencies the Undersecretaries, senior officers from the Sultan’s Armed Forces and military and security services, representatives of civil entities from various governorates, and a gathering of invitees.
