Royal Air Force of Oman Celebrates the Arrival of the First Batch of tactical Transport Aircraft
The Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO), celebrated the arrival of the first  tactical transport aircraft on Monday, 14th April 2014 . This project based on  the contract signed by the Sultanate with the US manufacturing company Lockheed Martin.   As per the contract, RAFO will be provided  with a number of such type of aircraft, within the framework of the development and modernization plans, within RAFO, in order to enable it to carry out national tasks and duties.  

 The ceremony held at RAFO Seeb under the auspices of Liwa Rukn Tay\ Matar bin Ali AL Obidani, CRAFO in the presence of a number of RAFO senior officers.  CRAFO greeted the aircrew and toured the aircraft and was given a brief on the modern devices and equipment of the new aircraft.

On this occasion CRAFO made a statement to Morale Guidance representative saying" the introduction of this aircraft which is the first one among a number of tactical transport aircraft.

He  added , that this  type of  aircraft will enhance RAFO potentials and capabilities which enable it to fulfill its national tasks and duties. Thus, the acquisition of such aircraft playing an important role in tactical transport is essential as it can serve SAF during various exercises and training operations, disasters, and extreme weather conditions as well as other national and military contributions. CRAFO pointed that RAFO has other plans in the framework of modernization and development along with the provision of fighter, helicopters and transport aircraft.
