Italian delegation of Centre for Advanced Defence Studies (CADS) visits NDC

​​A delegation of the Centre for Advanced Defence Studies (CADS) of Italy, headed by Vice-Admiral Rinaldo Veri, CADS President, visited the National Defence College (NDC). Upon arrival at the College HQs' at Mu'askar Bait Al Falaj, the guest was greeted by Major General Salim bin Mussalam bin Ali Qatan, Commandant of the NDC, accompanied by the Italian Ambassador to the Sultanate. The delegation was briefed on the modern and sophisticated facilities at the NDC. The delegation toured the different sections and facilities of the college. Vice Admiral Veri presented an introduction on CADS and its specialized curricula in defence studies.

On the occasion, the Commandant of NDC, the Italian Ambassador and Vice-Admiral Veri handed certificates to Brigadier Salim bin Mohammed al Jahdhami, Commander of Musandam Sector at the Royal Army of Oman (RAO), in addition to senior SAF officers, who passed the specialised course in CADS. The delegation also visited the Command and Staff College (CSC) at Mu'askar Bait Al Falaj. The delegation was briefed on CSC and the general curriculum in rehabilitation and training, classrooms equipped with modern information technologies.

Air Commodore Nasser bin Hamdoun al Harthy, CSC Commandant, and officers at the CSC Guidance Authority escorted the delegation in a tour that included halls, classrooms, study facilities and the library during which the delegation viewed the electronic linkage system for the libraries in the Sultan's Armed Forces (SAF), information provision process, military and cultural references. The delegation also visited the Sultan's Armed Forces (SAF) Museum. During the visit, the guest toured various sections of the museum during which the guest and his accompanying delegation viewed the historic manuscripts and models depicting the Omani ancient civilization and reflecting various architecture at Bait Al Falaj Castle.
