RNO Celebrates receiving of “Al Rasikh” The last KHareef Vessel

Project Khareef, which the Sultanate set up a contract with BAE Systems

to design and manufacture three vessels for the RNO comes as one of the biggest projects reflecting the consistency in developing and updating in RNO. These vessels considered to be another  qualitative addition to RNO  as to enhance its capabilities in carrying out their holy national duties in a accordance with other security and military services which always have been under the supervision and recognition of HM, the Supreme Commander of SAF.

The reception ceremony of  RNO Al Rasikh Vessel  was held on 28 May, 2014 at Portsmouth City in UK. The ceremony was under  the patronage of the Sultanate Ambassador to UK, Abdulazeez Bin Abdullah Al-Hanai in the presence of  RNO Principal Staff Officer  Commandore Rasheed Bin Tag Muhammad, Omani Military Attaché in UK Air Commandore Ibraheem Bin Ali Al- Farsi and a number of RNO Senior officers, Royal Navy of Britain and senior executives of BAE Systems.

The ceremony started with the play of royal anthems of Oman and the UK followed by hoisting of the Sultanate and  RNO flags.

Afterward, the chief guest and the attendees toured the facilities of the vessel and were briefed on the modern systems it equipped with in order to carry out its tasks in different maritime conditions. The vessel may be used in coast guard patrols as well as search an rescue operations.
